Our UUrban Farmers will hold a holiday greenery sale after church on 12/9. Please donate your excess greenery and buy some for holiday decorating. All proceeds go to the church.
What to bring, what to buy
Attractive, clean evergreens, including but not limited to
• Christmas tree trimmings
• Nandina, including berries
• Pine and pine cones
• Variegated (multi-colored) evergreens
How to prepare it
To condition your foliage to last through the season, collect it early in the morning or late in the day. Avoid the midday, especially if warm. Cut the stems at a slant with a clean knife or pruning tool. Immediately place stems in a clean bucket of warm (not hot) water to ensure an initial intake of water. Place the bucket in a cool, dark place for about 3 to 12 hours, and allow the water to cool.
Where to bring it
Place the foliage just outside the narthex door that’s on the far left as you face the building.
