Forms for Children’s Religious Education

We have an ambitious religious education program here at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Birmingham. Parents’ and guardians’ participation as leaders and helpers is vital to its success. Bringing your children to church services regularly is one way of showing that you recognize the importance of spirituality and faith development. Your pledge also contributes to our ability to provide ambitious programming. Perhaps most important, though, is your involvement as a volunteer. Working with the Religious Education Program demonstrates by example that you value the program and its goals. Our program is successful because of everyone’s commitment to our church’s children and youth.

Other Resources for Children

Some families in our church are very comfortable coming up with their own blessings, graces, and nighttime prayers, but some would welcome the suggested books of prayers, below.  Likewise, some families have already had to discuss the idea of illness and death with their children, whether because of pets, bugs in the garden, or beloved family members or friends. It can be so hard to know how best to prepare our little ones and help them to understand. Our Spiritual and Ethical Enrichment Committee has pulled together some documents, below, that may be helpful to you and your children during such a difficult time.
