Offerings by age

Childcare is available from 9:45 a.m. each Sunday.

Nursery and preschool
We have childcare in the nursery for infants and toddlers up to age two. Parents are required to sign their children in and out.

We also have a family room near the sanctuary where parents can tend to their children while listening to the service over the loudspeaker. This room is particularly popular with nursing moms or those with toddlers who prefer to stay with their parents rather than go to class.

Preschool
The preschool group (age three through kindergarden) meets downstairs in the purple-walled classroom. Chalice Children is a program developed by the Unitarian Universalist Association that delves deep into our faith for this age group. Early childhood (the time between ages two and five) is filled with curiosity and wonder. In a group setting, with loving adult guides, young children can engage in spiritual seeking, develop their openness to sharing, and experience the benefit of a supportive community. Their morning will include stories, activities, snacks and free playtime.

Elementary
At the core of our Unitarian Universalist community are our seven principles. The Principles encompass all the ingredients of a good and faith-filled life based on equality, freedom, peace, acceptance, truth, care and love. For the lower elementary students (1st through 3rd grade), the Soul Matters program explores these principles in the context of home, school and neighborhood. Participants engage in activities that emphasize the love they feel in community.

The upper elementary class is for children in 3rd through 6th grade. At this age, we start to talk more about the greater world and our place in it. We focus on issues of social and economic inequality, the importance of taking care of our Earth, and what we can do to make the world a better place.

Teens
The youth class is for our middle school and high school teens. We alternate our focus, with an ongoing service project rotating with a discussion every other week. The discussion series focuses on current events and topics important to the teens. The teens determine what service project they will focus on for the year.
